The Island Star joins Island Cruises for
2006 from her previous life as the Horizon, a much-loved ship in
the Celebrity Cruises fleet.
Already boasting excellent guest facilities and accommodation,
we’ve added some new features that we’re sure Island Cruises’
customers will really appreciate, and created some fascinating
new itineraries for the best ship in her class to explore.
The first thing you’ll notice about the Island Star is the
space. With broad decks, double-height public areas and roomy
cabins you can always find a place to relax and enjoy your
surroundings.
In re-fit we will take the most popular features of the Island
Escape and re-interpret them for the larger Island Star.
Dining, as on the Island Escape is an informal affair with an
increased choice of 5 restaurants. Choose from the new al fresco
Grill, a huge range of international buffet dishes in the Island
Restaurant, the 24-hour Beachcomber buffet, fine dining in the
Oasis or treat yourself in the Steak House.
Days at sea, or in port can be enjoyed out on the expansive sun
decks. The separate adult and children’s pools are within easy
reach of the Mirage and Sailaway bars. Tear yourself away and
this could be the perfect time to join a spinning class in the
excellent gym or enjoy a rejuvenating therapy session at the
spa.
Following a day’s recreation or sightseeing, there’s no shortage
of options for your evening’s entertainment. The spectacular
two-storey Ocean Theatre is home to nightly West End style shows
whilst the Bounty Club doubles as a cabaret lounge and nightclub
later on. There are seven bars to choose from with quieter spots
like the elegant Captain’s Club through to the busy Pub where
live music keeps the pace high.
Add to this a casino, library, card room and the Harbour Café
coffee shop, not to mention shops for perfume, jewellery as well
as wine and spirits – and you can see that your days onboard the
Island Star will just float by. |
